What agent readiness tools cost: the published prices, vendor by vendor

Few prices are public. This is what each vendor states, and how to budget around the gaps.

Most agent readiness jobs can be started at no cost: Cloudflare's scanner and is-agentic.com are public scan pages, ora.ai states that its free tier needs no API key, sign-up or card, and AI Crawl Control is on all Cloudflare plans. The paid tiers are what is rarely published: ora.ai does not publish paid prices, nekuda does not publish AgentLane pricing, and Forter asks merchants to contact sales.

1.Why is pricing hard to compare?

Agent readiness tools do different jobs and price them in different ways: a public scan page, a feature included in a CDN plan, a developer package, or an enterprise contract. Few publish a per-unit price, which is why our scanner calculator has no seat or cost input. What follows is only what each vendor's public pages state, checked in September 2026. Where a price is not published, we say so rather than estimate it.

2.What is free to start?

  • Cloudflare Is It Agent Ready: a public scan page; enter a URL and scan. No price is stated on the page.
  • is-agentic.com: a public scan page built by Vercel with ora.ai; every scan is run by ora.ai.
  • ora.ai: a free tier that needs no API key, sign-up or card, according to ora.ai; the home page asks new users to join a waitlist. The WebMCP audit also runs locally with npx ax webmcp-audit http://localhost:3000, with no sign-up.
  • webmcp.com: read-only JSON endpoints (/api/v1/sites and /api/v1/lookup) with CORS open and no authentication.

3.What depends on a plan?

Cloudflare publishes plan eligibility for its agent readiness features, though the pages we reviewed do not state plan prices.

  • Markdown for Agents: available at no cost on Pro, Business and Enterprise plans and for SSL for SaaS customers. It is not listed for the Free plan.
  • AI Crawl Control: available on all plans.
  • Pay per crawl: in private beta.
  • Web Bot Auth verification and remote MCP hosting: documented; plan details were not part of our review.

Because Markdown for Agents needs Pro or above, a site on Cloudflare's Free plan that wants markdown served at the edge has a plan decision to make. The calculator shows the effect on job coverage when you select the Free plan.

4.What is not published?

  • ora.ai's paid plans and prices.
  • nekuda's AgentLane pricing.
  • Forter's agentic commerce offering: the page names no pricing and asks merchants to contact sales.
  • Vercel's prices for BotID and MCP hosting: not covered in our review, so we do not state them.

5.What about charging agents and crawlers?

Two items sit on the other side of the ledger: charging agents rather than paying a vendor. Cloudflare's Pay per crawl lets AI crawlers pay to access content and is in private beta. x402 is an open standard in which a server answers an unpaid request with HTTP 402 and the client pays and retries; x402.org describes stablecoin payments as the primary use case, and on 11 May 2026 the project introduced batch settlement for very small payments. Neither is a cost of readiness tooling, but both are revenue decisions to record in your crawler policy (lesson 9).

6.How should you budget?

Start with the free entry points to find your gaps: one public scan and one task run on your pricing page. Many early fixes, such as server-rendering pricing, correcting robots.txt and publishing llms.txt, cost engineering time rather than licences. Paid tooling becomes a question when you need checks in CI at volume, recorded task runs across many pages, edge features on a higher plan, or WebMCP tooling at scale. At that point, ask each vendor for written pricing and compare it against the jobs you need in the side-by-side table.

7.What should you ask vendors?

  1. What does the paid tier add over the free tier, in checks, pages or runs?
  2. Is pricing per domain, per scan, per seat or per request?
  3. Are there limits on CI or API usage?
  4. Which features are in beta, and do beta terms differ?
  5. How much notice do you give before a price change?
